Hot Topic has two new Disney everyday cosplay dresses and I’m completely in love with them. The Mulan dress is both pretty and functional (love the bow) and the Ariel dress is updated but still clearly says Ariel.
Both of them are available now in sizes XS to 3X. Check out more pics below. [click to continue…]
For situations where shell bras and mermaid tails are too casual a look, it’s nice to know that you have the option to wear The Little Mermaid Ariel cosplay ruffle dress.
This purple and seafoam dress is a stylish way to be Ariel but with, whataya call ’em? Feet! Check out more pics below. [click to continue…]
The Little Mermaid flyaway cardigan is perfect for cool summer nights at the beach. Made of 94% polyester; 6% spandex, this seafoam cardigan has an ivory lace raglan sleeve and back panel and ivory allover Ariel and shell print.

Our friends at Takayas Custom Jewelry have shared another nerdy engagement ring design with us, and this time the lucky lady (Sabrina) is a big fan of The Little Mermaid. Her boyfriend Robert wanted to incorporate the movie into the ring design as a reminder of one of her favorite childhood memories.
For this ring’s design, Takayas wanted to play with the idea of subtly capturing the “under the sea” look. He created the band out of two 14K white gold mermaid tails and used the fins as the ring’s setting for the 1.02 ct aquamarine.
The biggest challenge was making the tails look as if they were moving in water, rather than rigidly holding the center stone in place. To create the appearance of organic underwater movement, Takayas designed the tails’ fins to twist and curve around the aquamarine. If you look closely, the tips of the fins form the ring’s prongs.
We love the subtle elegance of this design. Needless to say, Sabrina said “yes”.
Katsucon got a double dose of awesome when Canvas Cosplay showed up for the Masquerade.
As you can see, Canvas cosplayed Ursula from The Little Mermaid, but he also went fully fabulous drag queen with this rendition of “Big, Blonde, and Beautiful” from Hairspray: The Musical.
It was also a fantastically Divine double up because Ursula’s character was based on the famous drag queen Divine who also played Mrs. Turnblad in Hairspray.
You go girl.
Check out the video below.
Ariel wanted to be a part of your world, but what if she aimed a little higher? What if she wanted to be a part of some far off galaxy? Maybe get a job as a bounty hunter? If that was the case, she’d probably look something like Traci Hines‘ Ariel in Mandalorian Armor.
I’d imagine that Ursula wouldn’t want to mess with a blaster-packing Ariel.
