Jacob Patterson teamed up with Emmanuelabor to create these custom, one-off Fallout “Vault Dweller” Dunks which required over a year to complete:
The tongues feature jailbroken iPod Touches that have been given sounds, themes, apps, music, and related materials to fit the Fallout universe. Originally I had planned to sculpt or paint the tongues out to look like the actual Pip-Boy device, but it was too noisy. Instead, I trusted the Pip-Boy theme to do the job, and it does in a much more subtle way. On the sides are painted a soldier in Power Armor from Fallout 3 and a Ranger from New Vegas.

If you don’t have superpowers that enable you to jump high into the air, these hydraulic add-ons will definitely help. The armor clips onto platform boots and is fabricated from lightweight aluminum and plastic. Huzzah for wearable and functional gadgets! They’re made to order but only take about a week to build. That will give you plenty of time to find a latex outfit like the one in the photo to go with them.

The Hunger Games fever is getting hotter as the release date for the movie approaches. If the commercially-produced merchandise isn’t enough for you, look to Etsy for some uncommon products. These handpainted shoes are a perfect example. They’re painted to order on Vans or a similar style of footwear, and they’ll make any fan of the series squee with happiness. I like the mockingjay design in the above photo, and the book cover design in the photo after the break.
These shoes might not be designed to survive the arena, but they’re still awesome.
