
Companies are making watchbands for the iPod nano like crazy, but the problem is that the nano wasn’t built to be a watch in the first place—and that’s the fundamental difference beween it and the HD3 Slyde (well, that and the price).
The Slyde is a high-end Swiss watch with a touchscreen UI and a curved design that’s actually going to be comfortable on the wrist. They will also release several custom digital watch dials each year that can be purchased for around $50-$100 apiece (perhaps even more for special editions).

I have to admit, I have been less than thrilled with most of the iPod nano watch straps that have been flooding the market recently, but that all changed with Elecom’s outdoorsy new leather strap. They come in black and brown versions that run ¥3570 or about $42.

“Slap on. Slap off. The Slap”…er, wait, I’m mixing my genres and bizarre items. But, still, I’m scratching my head on this one.
Griffin generally makes some nice stuff and it’s not like there isn’t a market for iPod Nano watch/wristbands. But I’m not sure what chucklehead was heading the meeting for this one.

Remember that iPhone watch concept we featured a few months back? Well, this is as close as you will get to the real thing.
Basically, it’s a watch band that you can insert your new multitouch iPod nano into. As it turns out, the nano is just about the right size for an oversized watch face.
