Converse Japan’s 25th anniversary Super Mario Chucks were a big hit last year, and now they plan to bring the theme to their One Star line with the One Star Super Mario Bros. Ox. I can’t say I’ve ever been a fan of One Stars—but these do look pretty sweet.
The sneakers will be available in black and white leather versions starting at the end of March for ¥12,600, or approximately $164 USD. No word yet on whether there will be a release in the US.

Tauntr designed some Converse Chuck Taylors based on three of the most kick ass shows on television. I only wish they were available for sale…and that there was a Mr. Belvedere version.

Street Fighter meet Chuck Taylor. Maya Pixelskaya takes mundane shoes to complete and fantastic nerdom with this paint job. One shoe features Chun Li, and the other displays Ryu. It takes the dedication of a geek to hand-paint shoes with this level of detail.

Over the last couple of months we have delivered news out of Japan regarding a series of Converse Chucks celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of Super Mario Bros. As you might expect, they have proven to be quite popular—but getting your hands on a pair in the US seemed unlikely.
However, the good news is that JBox is now taking pre-orders for the first two black and white pairs. Granted, they aren’t cheap at $130, but we are willing to bet that there are quite a few people out there willing to pay a little extra for these. Hopefully, the other two pairs will available for pre-order down the line as well.

Journeys has three new Converse Chucks coming out in June with Green Lantern, Flash, Superman and Batman themes. Check out the complete collection after the break, though we think that the Flash version is particularly badass. It would look as though I was running like the wind even when I’m sitting down drinking a beer.

Unfortunately, the Death Stars shoe line never took off because they kept exploding and blowing people’s feet off. The good news is that you can still save the shirt by voting it up for printing on Qwertee.
