bond

Bob, the guy wearing the watch pictured here partying with The Gorton’s Fisherman and Superman (seriously, Christopher Reeve), is not the kind of guy that should go on The Price Is Right. That’s because he valued his Rolex Submariner Ref 5510 (purchased from a Navy Exchange at the remote Kwajalien Atoll fifty-two years ago) at only $9.95 on eBay. Needless to say, when it sold for $66,100 he was pleasantly surprised. Merry Christmas indeed.

Watch dorks will undoubtedly recognize the watch as the rare “Bond” watch—the same model worn by Sean Connery, Dr. No, Goldfinger, and Thunderball.

You think James Bond is cool and molecular bonds are for nerds? You obviously don’t understand science, without molecular bonds we would have nothing. But who gets the hot women? It isn’t the molecular bond.
