What if toys like Barbie dolls were made using realistic human body proportions? Artist Nickolay Lamm wants to emphasize that average is not only normal, it’s beautiful. To that end he’s created a doll made according to actual human body proportions. She’s called Lammily. She’s fit and strong, has articulated joints, doesn’t wear much makeup, and has a practical wardrobe. I love her and applaud that Lamm is making a change in this arena.
Lamm wants to make these dolls available to everyone so he’s turned to crowdfunding to make the project happen. He has a detailed 3D digital prototype ready and a manufacturer lined up, but he needs funds to cover basic costs such as meeting the manufacturer’s minimum order quantity.
Backers can essentially pre-order a special edition Lammily, get posters, or even get their names on packaging. Go check out Lammily for more information and to support the project.
