When designer Melissa Ng heard that her friend’s father was suffering from cancer, she sprung into action the best way she knew how: by creating something.
Ng’s college classmate, Rishi Gandhi, reached out for help when the medical bills resulting from his father’s stage 4 lung cancer became overwhelming. Gandhi, described by Ng as “the goofy/tough guy (but really a big softy)” was solemn in his heartbreaking words:
My father grew up dreaming of moving to the United States, but was unable to see himself through the citizenship process. He was able to work hard, and send me to school in the United States from the age of 13. He worked hard to support me thousands of miles away.
While I was in school, he worked hard to also keep my ailing mother who suffers to this day from various illnesses. Today, I want to work hard for my father.
My father was recently diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, and I need all the help I can get to help deal with the medical expenses…
My father is the linchpin that held my family together during the tough times of my youth. I want to come through for him in his toughest time of need.
In an effort to help raise money for those medical bills, Ng designed these gorgeous heath potion pendants. 100% of the profits will go towards Gandhi’s medical bills.
Ng’s Health Potion Pendants are printed on Shapeways and come in a beautiful array of colors and metals for $18 to $120.
