Apparently, Japan has a long history of running serious escaped animal drills at the Tama Zoo an Ueno Zoos in Tokyo using someone in an animal costume. This year involved the escape of a terrifyingly lovable tiger.
With it’s slow, lumbering movements, this tiger has no doubt prepared the staff for what it will be like in the event that a muscular, spiky-toothed death machine actually does escape from the zoo one day. It also teaches children that in the event of an animal emergency, run towards the subject and try to hug it as hard as you can.
