Galactic Kiss

The photograph “V-J Day In Times Square” is one of the most recognized photographs of the 20th century. It was taken for LIFE Magazine by Alfred Eisenstaedt on the day that Japan surrendered and World War II effectively ended. Every emotion floating in Times Square that day is captured in this photo.

Naturally, Kim Thomson wanted to re-create the image but with a Stormtrooper.

She sensibly looked for a willing candidate at Star Wars Celebration V this fall in Orlando. I don’t know if that’s where the largest number of troopers gather, but there was always at least one of them in my line of sight. Even at Denny’s. As you can see, her quest was successful!. They took the photo and then edited it into the right background. Tada – instant modern classic image. Or something. I think the only possible improvement would be the addition of Princess Leia buns.
