Darth Vader Adopts Highway, Collects Trash, And Is Accused Of Being Batman

untitled-1

If you find yourself driving up Route 460 in Virginia and happen to whiz past what looks to be Darth Vader picking up trash, don’t worry, you’re not hallucinating.

Henry Wakley of Blacksburg, Virginia spends most of his time working in New Zealand, but he’s back in town for a couple of weeks and decided to adopt a mile-and-a-half stretch of Route 460 through the state’s Adopt-A-Highway program under the name “Darth Vader”. Naturally, he’s walking up and down his patch collecting garbage while dressed as the Senior of the Skywalkers. Well, you would, wouldn’t you?

According to WSLS10, someone actually called the cops of Wakley, accusing him of being Batman. Fortunately the police set that particular caller straight, presumably by saying, “No, don’t worry, it’s just Darth Vader out for his daily trash pickup.” We also presume that Darth Vader shook his fist menacingly and complained, muttering something about “that Goddamn Batman always getting all of the credit”.
