I hope Batman is willing to give up a little gas, grass or ass.

Check out more of Kevin Knight’s cosplay photos after the break.

Suit up! You’re going to battle in the urban jungle. You’ll need to be prepared with the right equipment, and we have provided a list of products that will keep you connected while also keeping you mobile. Cue ’80s movie “lock and load” montage — only this time Rambo is wearing glasses and an ironic T-shirt.

San Diego Comic-Con is a never-ending parade of visual overstimulation. At this convention, the attendees are just as much as part of the show as the exhibitors and panelists. That’s because a large percentage of them come in costume. And by costume, I don’t mean something that can be purchased at the Halloween store. Those are present of course, but most of the costumes are painstakingly handmade by someone. Hours of gluing and stitching are represented on the convention hall floor, and cosplayers are almost always happy to stop for photos. Even in a crowd of gold medalists, a handful of costumes stand out. Here are my favorites of the costumes that crossed my path.

If there’s one thing that’s universally true about fan conventions, it’s that there will be cosplay. In the case of San Diego, many people who are packing away this year’s costume as I write are also planning next year’s costume in their heads. Serious cosplayers don’t just raid the local costume shop at Halloween. They painstakingly search through fabrics to get just the right texture and weight to recreate the looks of their favorite heroes. It doesn’t even have to be heroes, or re-creations for that matter. Cosplayers come up with infinite variations of familiar themes and those are often the most amazing costumes you’ll see.

San Diego Comic-Con is three weeks away. Do you know where your costume is? Believe it or not, you can still put a costume together for the convention and have time to spare. In fact, both of the costumes I’m wearing this year will be put together in July. As in I haven’t even bought any of the pieces for construction yet. I might be an extreme example, but procrastination is common in the cosplay world. You should join us; we won’t judge you on your lateness.

It’s been far too long since I’ve played a tabletop roleplaying game. I miss Saturday nights spent with friends around a crowded table overflowing with caffeinated drinks, Chipotle burritos, and some noxious smelling but delicious chips. The food and drinks were stuffed in between dice, character sheets, pencils, graph paper, and the single calculator that everyone shared. Games would last until the early hours of the next morning, and occasionally I’d let my character suffer an injury so I could crawl into the corner and go to sleep. It was a singular yet familiar environment.

Our friends at Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab have developed a RPG series devoted to gaming night. They are known for blending perfume oils with exacting precision. They take their time and experiment. The end result is bigger than perfume oil—it’s experiences. It’s places. It’s RPG characters. Each person who rubs a BPAL oil into his or her skin will smell something different. That’s partially because of body chemistry and mostly because perfume oils shouldn’t be like a McDonald’s hamburger. They shouldn’t be the same to everyone, and the team at BPAL utilize their skills to customize the experience.

As we first saw with their World Time E-Ink watch, Phosphor is on the cutting edge when it comes to affordable watch design. The new Phosphor Appear (formerly the Phosphor Reveal) was no exception as it garnered quite a bit of attention when it was first announced thanks to its unique Micro-Magnetic Mechanical Digital (M3D) display adorned with Swarovski crystals.

So how cool is it up close and personal?

In case you haven’t heard, it’s Fashion Week in New York. Top designers have descended on the Big Apple to show off their latest fall styles. But not everything is going to be hot this year. In fact, some of these real designer concepts would be too terrifying to wear on Halloween. But even the most avant garde fashions fade next to the futuristic stuff found on this list.

Since I gave you the rundown on Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab in yesterday’s review post, I’ll skip right to the reviewing portion of our show. I have scents from a few different lines to explore.

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab does so much more than just make scents. They bottle places, characters, and moments. Opening a bottle of their perfume oil will take you to another place or transport you into the pages of your favorite comic book. It’s fun to wear a bit of say, Machu Picchu or Hellboy, around on your skin all day.
