By now, several of us have begun our journeys as trainers in Niantic Labs’ hit new augmented reality game, Pokemon Go. The new mobile title based on Nintendo’s hit game franchise is helping people explore their surroundings in new ways, and it’s getting tons of us out of the house. But when it comes to long-haul trips like those required by the game, even the most physically fit trainer can find themselves weary.
So, here are a few suggestions for creating a trainer ensemble that will make your journey a bit easier (which you should cap off with comfortable shoes, of course).
1. The Hat
While any snapback will do the trick, a true trainer sticks to the game’s colors. Etsy designers are already hard at work creating replicas of the accessories used in Pokemon Go, including Because42CustomKicks, who is offering replica hats for only $20.
2. Water Bottle
Push those liquids, trainers! Obviously, drinking plenty water is key—especially on a hot summer day. There are loads of options out there, but this particular water bottle by MadhouseCustoms is BPA Free, only $5, and has a pretty motivating message on it.
3. Solar Powered Backpack
A backpack is always handy on longer trips, but if you’re particularly serious about the hike, consider upgrading to a solar-powered backpack. The durable bags by BirkSun even have a retro RPG feel to their style, and offer plenty of places for storage.
Then again, if you’re willing to trade the solar charging functionality for something a little more fun, there are plenty of Pokemon-themed backpacks out there.
4. Pokemon Go Plus Wearable
While the release date of the Pokemon Go Plus accessory is still a little fuzzy, new details have revealed that its purpose is to get trainers’ eyes up and away from their phones thanks to a Bluetooth connection.
It can be worn like a watch or tucked away into a pocket, and will make noise and flash when Pokemon are nearby.
Serious trainers won’t let the elements slow them down. This cute Pokemon Eeveelution Umbrella will keep you dry while you explore.
6. Phone Case
