When Sphero released their app-enabled BB-8 droid, the Internet collectively contracted a case of OMGNEED-itis. However, as adorable as he is, controlling him with a smartphone app isn’t exactly Jedi-worthy.
Well, Sphero’s been doing a little tinkering and they’ve come up with a new wearable that allows you to control BB-8 with the power of The Force (aka super sensitive gyroscopic motion sensors).
In other words, BB-8 can be controlled by your hand movements. These movements can also be programmed to trigger specific actions.
The prototype models come in Resistance white with orange accents and First Order black with red accents.
I should also tell you that Sphero is will be releasing a battle damaged version of BB-8 in the near future. The new motion accessory will be sold in a bundle with BB-8 and individually when it’s finally released. So far, pricing has not been announced.
Head on over to Gizmodo to see the wearable in action.
