The recently released Phosphor World Time E-Ink watch has been making waves lately thanks to its curved e-ink display—the same display found the Amazon Kindle.

It’s an interesting watch, and we wanted to take a look for ourselves and see if it was more than just a nerdy gimmick.

The Phosphor World Time E-Ink has a few things going for it—namely the fact that it is a very comfortable watch to wear, it has a casual stylish look without being nerdy and the curved E-Ink display is clear and easy to read. Plus it will definitely draw some attention.

On the downside, there’s no backlight so it will be useless in the dark, functionality is limited (although the ability for a dual time zone display is great for travelers), and it’s on the pricey side for a casual watch at $150 and up.

So is the Phosphor World Time E-Ink worth $150-$200? Probably not, but it all depends on whether or not you are willing to pay for the novelty value of the E-Ink display.

Still, the watch is more than just a gimmick. It’s a great looking, no maintenance watch that should satisfy just about anyone—especially people that like to have new toys before everyone else.

Uhm. It’s a watch. Who still wears a watch in the cell phone age? Losers, that’s who.

It’s about style and an appreciation for precise mechanical instruments.

Besides, not everyone wants to whip out their phone repeatedly just to check the time.

@Icesnake frostfyre Glad to notice that you could deciphere that it is a watch. People who wear watches are not ‘Loses’, (Movado, Rolex, etc.) it’s the loser with the ‘free cell phone’ with 2year contract (has 200 min. that’s all they can afford) that is the loser!
