Golf in an expensive sport…believe me. There is always some new club or new gadget to buy, and most of them are overpriced and generally unnecessary. Take the Reconvilier Hercules Golf Master watch for example. There are plenty of GPS range-finders out there, including apps on cellphones, but Hercules has the technology built-in via a rotating face that displays analog time on one side and the GPS distance to the green on the other.
In order to get accurate date for the course, users must first connect to a base station dubbed “Caddie” to download distances in meters or yards. Distance data is automatically relayed to your watch as you dig yourself out of bunkers and go searching for lost balls in the woods. Granted, that IS pretty convenient, but I’m sure the price tag will be far more than most are willing to pay.
