Painters, sculptures, illustrators, and other artists have the luxury of refining their talents using their medium of choice. Tattoo artists, on the other hand, generally practice their craft on oranges, raw chickens, and their really, really good friends. Until now.
Brazilian ad agency Lew’Lara TBWA was commissioned by Tattoo Art Magazine to create a Moleskine-like sketchbook filled with pages made from artificial skin to help young and seasoned artists alike. The challenge was met and the SkinBook was created.
Artists can now test out ink colors, designs, and techniques before ever attempting them on clients. The pages even come pre-printed with body part images to help artists hone their skills.
