video games

I’ve been busy with games involving Reapers and Jedi but this makes me want to go back and revisit Skyrim. Violinist Lindsey Stirling, known for her Legend of Zelda and Lord of the Rings violin videos, has turned her creative energies to Skyrim. It’s a beautifully shot video with inspiring music and there’s a duel between a sword and a violin bow. No, I’m not making that up.

It’s a little known fact that cats love wearing tiny hats. They only put up a fight when you try to dress them up to play hard to get. Keep that in mind and then go buy these tiny Super Mario Bros. hats for your furry friends. If your cats are named Mario and Luigi, it’s just meant to be.

Costumes that are perfect enough to look like an action figure don’t come along often. It takes time. Cosplayer NeilBombad carefully modeled each piece of Cecil Harvey‘s Dark Knight armor from Final Fantasy IV. It took over 500 hours to print the entire suit, and even more hours of gluing, painting, and sanding to get it to the quality you see in the photos. All in all, Nick invested about eight months into the costume. It was time well spent.

Among many happenings at San Diego Comic-Con, there was a Bioware costume contest. Plenty of fans brought their best efforts to the contest. Many of the entries were from Mass Effect. Luckily, for those of us who couldn’t be there, photographer LJinto took an impressive set of photos from the event.

It’s not easy to come up with cosplay ideas no one has seen before. Instead of thinking outside the box, this cosplayer at Fan Expo Canada decided to be the box. To be precise, he decided to be an Xbox game sleeve for Call of Duty. He didn’t just sling a rectangle over his shoulders either. He cut out holes for his head and arms and wore the costume to go with the box. Well done sir, well done.

Dressing up like a video game character is one thing, but what if you were dropped into that game and forced to survive? Suddenly, being a fat Spider-Man isn’t so amusing.

This is especially true if you suck at video games. Although this shirt is just a concept at this point, you can help vote it into existence at Jinx.

You can’t let a little thing like the apocalypse keep you from your precious video games. A power outage without generator backup is what you really need to worry about.

Imagine if Sesame Street had crossed over into the video game market in the 1970s and developed the Pac-Man concept using Cookie Monster. What would the ghosts have been? Floating salads?
