tron legacy

Back in the day, Tron was a bit more civilized. They had monocles that glowed and Clu was simply called “Old Chap.”

Now you can have a matching bag for that Quorra outfit you made thanks to a tutorial put together by Ladyada and Becky Stern.

Like the Quorra costume, it uses an electroluminescent material to create the light—in this case it’s wire instead of tape strips. A small battery pack hidden in the bag generates the power necessary to make it glow.

Tron:Legacy has finally arrived with fancy 3D visuals, but you can still pay tribute to the retro look of the original with these new Tron tees from Mighty Fine. Check out the rest of the collection after the break.

I would like to have been in the meeting room when someone first said, “Hey, let’s make a sequel to Tron.” I suppose the first film was a box office success, so it was a reasonable jump. But the jump to create a plethora of fashion accessories based on Tron? It’s taken me by surprise. I had no idea that the pool of serious Tron fans was large enough to justify a whole jewelry merchandising line. Nonetheless, Los Angeles based TomTom Jewelry has partnered with Disney to create just that.

But maybe these pieces have a broad enough appeal to extend beyond Tron fans. The lines are simple. The pieces are low-key enough to wear to the office but also perfectly suited to pair with a simple (read – sexy) black dress. Also? They look neon. Check out more in the gallery after the break.

We teased adidas’ plans for the release of Tron:Legacy back in July, and got glimpses of new gear here and there, but word has come down that the collection is now available online and at the Tron pop-up store in Culver City, California.

The collection features glow-in-the-dark and 3D jackets, sweatshirts, and tees. So far, no word yet on the availability of the shoes in the collection, but we have a new design in the series pictured after the break.

I wouldn’t have expected Tron to be a theme that would come out of a Paris-based luxury helmet maker, but it does make a lot of sense. Too bad the retro design clashes with the modern Tron motorcycle suit.

Pricing for the helmet has not been made available, but it set to arrive in time to coincide with the release of Tron:Legacy in France this January.

Remember those TRON-themed stripper heels from last month? Well, you’ll be able to find that and much more at Disney’s TRON Pop-Up shop in Culver City, California starting on November 19th and running through December 23rd.

Hours will be 10-6 daily, except Wednesdays when the shop stays open until 10.

UD Replicas definitely has a good thing going by transforming costumes from our favorite nerdy films into motorcycle suits. We’ve already seen it with Batman, Wolverine and Iron Man—but now it’s TRON’s turn.

We’ve featured the original Tron hoodie and the glowing Sark hoodie in the past, but this version is all new for the movie Tron:Legacy.

But before you can buy, the concept has to be given the go-ahead by Threadless voters. If you want one, make sure to cast your vote.

Before you get too excited, no—these  Tron sneakers from adidas don’t actually have embedded lights. It uses “glow in the dark stitch detailing and reflective TRON disk screenprints to echo the lighting, color schemes and self-illuminated costumes featured in the film.”

Interesting…because the black shoes shouldn’t “glow” blue. But I digress…

So, from the right angle, your shoes will look straight out of Flynn’s Arcade. And pairing them with one of these glow-in-the-dark Tron hoodies is a must. Look for the shoes to arrive in December 2010.
