Superman

DC Comics partnered with Japanese designer aimerfeel for their We Love Hero collection, and the result is lots of adorable and sexy underwear and loungewear with nostalgic designs and colors. The line features Golden Age versions of Batman, Superman, Batgirl, and Robin. I like that all designs are available for both sexes. Guys can get pink Batgirl boxer briefs if they feel so inclined. The cuts are comfortable, too. Underoos and hipsters are so much better than only offering thongs, and it doesn’t happen often.

Lois Lane and Superman aren’t together in DC’s New 52, but it’s still a stretch to assume he’d ever end up with Harley Quinn. In real life though, such rules don’t apply. This couple incorporated their affections for the superhero and villain into their wedding but not in the hit-you-over-the-head-with-a-giant-mallet sort of way. There are plenty of ways you can blend your geeky passions with your wedding day, and they chose the subtle route. The wedding colors were red and black, the wedding cake was topped with action figures, the garter belt had the Superman logo, and the engagement ring was based on Harley Quinn’s diamond design. The groomsmen did all wear the “S” logo, but it still managed to be classy.

Even superheroes need to stay warm! These comfy Snuggie-esque wraps will allow you to pretend you’re Superman or Wonder Woman while lounging on the couch. They’ll protect against the cold, but they may not block kryptonite. I wouldn’t risk it.

Just a tip: if your significant other mentions he or she would like to see you in a superhero costume, this is probably not the way to go.

Herbert Chavez is obsessed with Superman – so much so that he actually went under the knife and has his appearance altered so he would more closely resemble the Man of Steel – including work on his chin, nose, lips, eyes, skin, thighs, etc.

Russell Crowe took a break on the set of the Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman movie Man of Steel, and we got photos of him in costume. He’s playing Superman’s alien father Jor-El. Note the “S” on the chest.

I am a bit behind the curve and only recently finished watching the Showtime series The Tudors. It’s taken most of the summer, but I finally saw the last episode where crotchety old Henry VIII bids us adieu. Despite the series title, my favorite character wasn’t Henry, but his best friend, the Duke of Suffolk, played by Henry Cavill. I realized about halfway through that he was the actor who would also be playing Superman in the next movie and from that moment on, no matter how hard I tried, I kept seeing him in that famous cape and tights, complete with that silly little curlicue of hair that Christopher Reeve did best.
