superhero

If you like cute dresses and the Avengers as much as me, you’re probably drooling over your keyboard at these designs from Robinade right now. I love how they are stylish and also manage to capture the essence of each superhero’s costume. To me, they are the very definition of geek chic. I’d love to find someone more talented and persistent than myself to bring these designs to life. I’d wear every one of them. They’d also be fantastic for a group cosplay.

Check out the rest of the Avengers designs after the break.

Let your budding superhero look the part when he’s kicking the everlovin’ out of pool water this summer with these Marvel swimsuits and goggles. The suits are available in Captain America, Iron Man, and Spider-Man designs and offer fade-resistant fabric and UV protection. Spiderman, Iron Man, or Hulk goggles are also available with see-through scrims and adjustable straps.

When you’ve been dating someone for 18 months from 4,000 miles away, it’s only natural that your wedding theme would be superheroes. You’ve survived a lot after all. Megan Suszynski and her husband Thomas like comics and kitsch, so they combined all those factors and planned their DIY wedding.

The bride and bridesmaids wore capes and masks, there was a singing Batman, and they included lots of simple but effective touches. Plus, the bride wins the nicest bride award ever for having her bridesmaids wear Toms instead of stilettos.

Drawing a mustache on your finger is old news. It’s much cooler to dress your finger up in a little costume complete with a wig. Yes, you read that right. Tamara Maynes has designed a series of superheroes in teensy tiny costumes suited for your finger. The characters have fun names like Angle Man and include masks, capes, and fun logos—and they’re cute.

I think fashioning little ensembles would be a great project for kids or adults. And, if you make your own and convince friends to make villains, you could have epic finger poking contests or thumb wars.

I’ve discovered that even though I live in a warm climate, people often abuse air conditioning. That’s where these crochet wrist warmers come in handy. Besides keeping your arms from freezing, these warmers come in a variety of superhero designs. Yay for mini cosplay!

Spencer’s is offering a new line of snapback hats that will make your head so much cooler. The style of the hat is classic, and each design features a bold logo in raised embroidery on the front. You can showcase your love for the Avengers, Spider-Man, Superman and more while keeping your scalp safe from the sun or while hiding a bad hair day. They’re definitely made to be noticed.

Check out more designs including Transformers and Thundercats after the break.

This two-tone t-shirt features a design made up of 33 superhero weapons, some of which are more obvious than others. I’m sure the good folks at Rickenbacker are happy to see that Haruko’s bass made the cut.

Sports and nerdom just keep colliding. First it was these basketball jerseys, and now you have baseball jersey options too. Designs for Captain America, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, and more grace these shirts. Though they’re styled for the game, please don’t wear them while playing baseball. It’d be a shame to get grass stains on these.

And yeah, I’m still grumbling about the fact that they’re only available in men’s sizes.

Fear not, good citizens. In Baltimore County in Maryland, the Caped Crusader visits sick children in hospitals and gives the sort of hope that only a superhero can. Lenny B. Robinson, the man behind the mask, was thrust into the limelight recently after he was pulled over for having a Batman emblem as a license plate on his Lamborghini. It’s not the first time he’s been in the news with car troubles either; he also had police assistance with a flat tire in November. He was in a full costume on both occasions, and he’s not just dressing up for kicks. He’s here to help.

Robinson is a successful businessman that uses his money and his time to pass out toys at the hospital to children fighting cancer. He talks with them and provides encouraging words; most of the kids are just thrilled to see a superhero (he’s even buying a $250,000 Batmobile replica to wow the kids even more). He’s so popular that various children’s causes have his contact information file. He even visits schools to speak out against bullying.

Robinson on playing the part:

“Eventually, it sinks in and you become him,” Batman told me. “It feels like I have a responsibility that’s beyond a normal person. And that responsibility is to be there for the kids, to be strong for them, and to make them smile as much as I can.” He understands that might sound corny, but he doesn’t care.

Pardon me. I have something in my eyes.

It looks like Wonder Woman and Killer Croc will be joining the club of heroes and villains to find their way onto footwear. Cad Bane Converse All Stars were spotted at WonderCon last week, and just like those, these new designs will be sold exclusively at Journeys. They hit the stores and web on April 2 (Wonder Woman) and April 9 (Killer Croc); supplies will be limited so if you want them, don’t hesitate. Though the shoes probably won’t give you superpowers (maybe you’ll get a radioactive pair though, who knows), they will make you extra stylish!

Check out close up photos and the Killer Croc shoes after the break.
