Designer Melanie Thompson used her skills with latex to create this one-of-a-kind Stormtrooper cat suit. Way hotter than armor, but not quite as hot as Stormtrooper body paint.

Following up on their Tron and Iron Man motorcycle suits, UD Replicas is now offering a Stormtrooper design available in Shadow Trooper black or Imperial white versions. Each suit is made entirely from grade-A cowhide leather, and features raised rib detailing on the shoulders, legs, torso, and midsection, as well as removable protective body armor for riders.

The suit will be made in a limited edition of 500, and will be delivered in the second quarter of 2012. The jacket, pants, gloves, and boots can also be purchased separately.

Just when you feel like you never want to see another Stormtrooper costume, someone makes armor from carbon fiber. Well, in this case, four someones. A group of engineering technicians who work for San Diego Composites decided to blend their ability to work with carbon fiber with their love of Star Wars. The result is a costume that looks impressive enough to fit right into the films. Luckily the president of their company was on board and decided to donate some materials to the expensive project. Four suits of shiny, unique Stormtrooper armor or a nice car?  I think the former is almost always a better option.
