Santa hats are obviously improved by the addition of pointy ears. Kids have the Star Wars option with the festive red and green Yoda hat, and adults get the more logical blue Star Trek hat featuring Spock’s ears. Etsy seller Becca Stundel sent us word about her magnificently nerdy knitted Vulcan hat. She describes it thusly:

Leonard Nimoy turned 80 years old over the weekend, so the timing is just right for you to pick up an authentic latex Spock ear from the set of Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
The ear will be going up for auction on April 2nd through Premier Props. The piece is expected to fetch as much as $1000, but don’t be surprised if this tiny piece of movie history goes for more.

I didn’t think it was possible but ThinkGeek might have created a shirt that’s too nerdy.
Well, maybe the shirt itself is borderline, but when you combine Mama Said Spock You Out with the updated LL Cool J lyrics after the break…wow. Just wow.
Holy crap that is brilliant. When zipped, it’s just a hand on a hoodie. Unzip and it’s the Vulcan salute. Lie down on your side and it’s the Vulcan shocker.
