I will never get enough of custom painted nerdy shoes, and these tennis shoes from ‘Shoes by Lady’ are particularly wonderful. The TARDIS design is my favorite of the bunch mostly because I love the addition of the suit and bowtie on the tongue of the shoe. It’s a perfect touch.

Her other styles include Pikachu, R2-D2, and Spider-Man. The shoes come in a wide variety of sizes and are custom painted when you order them. Contact the seller to find out the lead time before you order.

Among other things, social networks inspire sharing, over-sharing, change, and shoe designs. Designer Lumen Bigott uses social media and ended up incorporating sites like Twitter, Flickr, You Tube, and more into fashionable Keds. Each pair has a different theme and feature an image that ties the sneakers to a certain website. Bigott says:

I’m a big fan of inspiration blogs, I also spend a lot of time in social networks and I love fashion: those three things are responsible of this shoes collection. The idea was to find the most important graphic elements of my favorite social networks and apply them to my favorite pair of shoes trying to keeping alive the essence of each brand.

These sneakers won’t protect test subjects from a long fall, but they will match your jumpsuit quite nicely.

Unfortunately, these don’t appear to be for sale anywhere—but making a pair for yourself might only require simple modifications to some orange Chuck Taylors.

Alexandra Trim of bbee shoes painted these Calvin and Hobbes sneakers as a custom order for a lucky guy named Oliver. With designs like these, it’s no wonder her Etsy shop is down while she catches up on orders. When she’s back up an running in a few weeks, you might be able to commission a pair like these for yourself.

It looks like Wonder Woman and Killer Croc will be joining the club of heroes and villains to find their way onto footwear. Cad Bane Converse All Stars were spotted at WonderCon last week, and just like those, these new designs will be sold exclusively at Journeys. They hit the stores and web on April 2 (Wonder Woman) and April 9 (Killer Croc); supplies will be limited so if you want them, don’t hesitate. Though the shoes probably won’t give you superpowers (maybe you’ll get a radioactive pair though, who knows), they will make you extra stylish!

Converse Japan’s 25th anniversary Super Mario Chucks were a big hit last year, and now they plan to bring the theme to their One Star line with the One Star Super Mario Bros. Ox. I can’t say I’ve ever been a fan of One Stars—but these do look pretty sweet.

The sneakers will be available in black and white leather versions starting at the end of March for ¥12,600, or approximately $164 USD. No word yet on whether there will be a release in the US.
