This full-size Lego Minifig space helmet concept from designer Jonathan Robson is intended to be a learning aid for children. As a child Robson was a Lego Club member and he attributes the comics that came in the monthly club magazine with helping him learn to read. The helmet is his way of giving back.
A life-size LEGO Space Helmet plays downloadable audio tracks for comics. The concept designed by Jonathan Robson is based on a LEGO helmet with a gold space visor. The helmet acts as a headset for listening to the audio for LEGO comics as well as a role-playing toy. Once subscribed to Audio Comic, you’ll receive the LEGO comic through the post with your activation code to download the audio onto a USB brick. Simply slot the brick into the back of the helmet, put it on and enjoy the exciting LEGO Audio comic experience! Two buttons on the side of the helmet allow to skip through pages in the audio tracks.
Again, the helmet is only a concept at this point, but it’s a cute idea. Even the instruction manual for a breadmaker would be thrilling when filtered through this helmet.

SA Photonics’ new High Resolution Night Vision System (HRNVS) promises to vastly improve the resolution and field of vision for military pilots flying nighttime missions while, at the same time, making them look like they just stepped out of Skymall catalog.
Of course, pilots will be happy to look ridiculous because HRNVS offers high resolution night vision imagery and over an 82.5 degree field of view. That’s more than double the field of view of most night vision systems. It also processes the images digitally, much like a fancy DSLR. That means enhancements and video recording that traditional night vision simply can’t pull off.
SA Photonics also claims that the helmet is lightweight—something I was concerned about at first glance. I pictured pilots ejecting from aircraft and plummeting to the earth head first like a shuttlecock.

Hasbro sent us one of their customary new product image dumps over the weekend, and after a bit of digging we discovered one particularly interesting product—the General Grievous electronic helmet.
No details have been released thus far, but it seems as though you’ll be looking and talking like Grievous in no time. Check out the packaging shot after the break.

It’s probably little uncomfortable to wear and your field of vision is most likely impaired, but what enemy wouldn’t be intimidated by someone entering into the field of a cosplay battle wearing this and a TIE Fighter pilot suit?

If the video after the break is the real deal (movement away from the subject during the demonstration seemed a little suspect) a helmet with a shaving cream injection system and four servo-powered blades can shave your head from stubbly to “who loves ya’ baby” in 20 seconds.
Using something like this certainly isn’t for the squeamish, which is why I suspect that beard and pubes versions are probably a long way off.

Check out this stunning helmet artist Josh Jay patterned after the one seen in Fallout 3. Now all you need is a bomb shelter and a stockpile of weapons for 2012.
More pics are available after the break.

His helmet would probably look a lot like the version created by Jon Wollack of Almost Dark Productions—and Xerxes would have been the one who got frozen in Carbonite. That would have been one huge trophy.
