Instructables user “=D” spent a month and a half creating these DIY headphones from LEGO, which have been described as “sturdy enough to be tossed around in a bag”. The pics are a bit grainy and there are no details on specs just yet, but if you dig the design on these Star Wars Darth Vader, R2-D2 and C-3PO headphones from Taito, they will be available starting in May for only $25. If you have a little more money to burn however, these Star Wars-themed headphones from Coloud might be the better choice for around $40.

Sick of Star Wars? I didn’t think that was possible, but we have you covered anyway. Try tuning in with these Marvel character headphones instead.

I’m not sure how they sound, but you would probably buy one of those old-timey ear horn hearing aids and call it headphones so long as it has Marvel branding. These Coloud versions feature graphics from the likes of  X-Men, Wolverine, Punisher, Hulk and Iron Man. And if you like these, I also have a TV you might be interested in.

Brian Garret Schuur designed these street headphones which were apparently part of his grad thesis on rapid manufactured designs. He obviously hit the jackpot, because he landed a position as product designer for Freedom of Creation and has since produced a number of prototype designs such as this. The headphones are customizable, allowing the user to add the names of their favorite musicians / groups to the headband, so if something like this is ever released, it will give your parents/boss/significant other some examples to add before “shit” when they tell you to “Turn that (pick a group) shit off and pay attention”.

I mean, when you think “earmuff headphones” you probably think of the myriad products on the market that insert actual headphones inside earmuffs for cold weather listening. However, the guys behind these earmuffs dared to do something different, radical…ridiculous. They completely dispensed with the electronics and simply made a set of earmuffs that look like headphones. However, you can achieve the same effect by simply tucking your current earbuds underneath.
