T-Shirt War is the brainchild of Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, two men who are apparently on a mission to prove that with the right tools, and an unlimited amount of free time, you can create a pretty damn impressive stop motion film.  I won’t ruin the extensive plot for you, but I can say this: If you enjoy watching something that you cannot fully appreciate because you are constantly cringing at the thought of how long and tedious the creative process must have been, then this is the film for you.
If the movie F*ckholds the record for the use of that word, then T-Shirt War must hold the off screen record for use of the phrase, “dude, we’ve gotta’ finish this, it’s gonna’ look so cool when we’re done!”
Cameras that still require film are used by grandma to take photos of birthday parties and flower arrangements. Since digital cameras eliminate the whole development thing, they’re more likely taking photos of your hardcore S&M escapades and what you drew on your buddies’ faces when they passed out after a night of beer pong. And judging from the shock, it looks like this Wodak old timer just got a peek at the seventh circle of hell.
Don’t want to sound pompous about that special job or talent you have? Let these ties do all the bragging for you. They’ll say more about your lot in life than words ever could. Wearing them will boldly tell the world that you are a dedicated member of the Audio/Visual club at school, that you usher with pride at the local Cineplex, that you are a skilled artisan in the area of grandpa humor, or that you like magic. Any way you look at it, they all equal one thing…chicks, and lots of them.
The necktie/bowtie combo are both made from real film. The necktie measures approximately 13†and has a convenient brass weight at the bottom to hold it down. It also features photos of a large city with sailboats, palm trees, ocean liners, etc. The bowtie sports scenes of San Francisco complete with trolley. These badges of cool are available on ebay until October 30.
After many, many years of service, film is being forced out of his position by management after digital got its big promotion. So, I guess it is time for film to pack its bags and head for Florida where it will live out its years withering away in the disposable cameras of our nation’s senior citizens.
