I can’t say that I’ve ever considered a femme version of Spider-Man’s red and blue costume, but this dress makes me feel like I should have. It’s made to order from lycra/spandex and mesh – primary materials in all superhero costumes. It’s the type of dress that will definitely turn heads as much for the unique design as the bright blue spandex. Given that, I’m not sure I would personally wear it out and about, but it would be perfect for a convention. Don’t ask me where you’d keep the web shooters though.

This t-shirt design not only made laugh aloud, it also nearly made me spit out my coffee. The sheriff in The Walking Dead will always be the poor chap suffering unrequited love in Love Actually. He probably says this to all the zombies.

When did fungus get so darn cute? This cardigan features hand sculpted and painted mushrooms from Super Mario Bros and a hand sewn applique. It’s chic, it’s subtle, and one of those pieces that’s good for a convention or the office. It’s definitely on my want-a-lot list!

The Hunger Games fever is getting hotter as the release date for the movie approaches. If the commercially-produced merchandise isn’t enough for you, look to Etsy for some uncommon products. These handpainted shoes are a perfect example. They’re painted to order on Vans or a similar style of footwear, and they’ll make any fan of the series squee with happiness. I like the mockingjay design in the above photo, and the book cover design in the photo after the break.
These shoes might not be designed to survive the arena, but they’re still awesome.

What if you could make your face look like an emoticon? Yes, we’ve reached that day and age. These glasses were printed from a 3D file and allow you to wear a constant look of disapproval.
After seeing these, Makerbot threw down the gauntlet. They’re encouraging people to keep making glasses that express emoticons. The challenge:
Here’s what I’m thinking for an emoticon glasses challenge:
- Be the first to upload any kind of emoticon glasses to Thingiverse with the tag “emoticonglasses“.
- Be the first to upload a particular kind of emoticon glasses to Thingiverse with the tag “emoticonglasses“.
- Be the first to tweet a picture of yourself wearing emoticon glasses at a bar with the hashtag #emoticonglasses“
Anyone who completes any of the above three challenges gets 9000 internet points and everlasting online fame!
If you would rather skip all of the effort and simply throw your money at someone, the glasses can also be purchased ready-made from the link below.

To me, this shirt is the definition of geek chic. This isn’t your average nerd shirt design. It features a classic Nintendo game controller paired with a really flattering cut and colors. Bonus: it has pockets. The design is custom and will be made just for you when you place an order. If you wear it, don’t let strangers push your buttons. Save the cheat codes for the ones you love.

I’ve never understood why someone who owns a sleek, sexy smartphone woud want to attach it to one of those old-school handset receiver accessories (Lenny Kravitz, I’m talking to you). I appreciate the nostalgia, but it looks ridiculous. However, to really take douchebaggery to the next level, you’ll need a holster for it. Shockingly enough, one actually exists.
