These detailed steampunk Long Fall Boots were made from canvas shoes, a pair of cheap, black pleather boots and giant springs (many, many early Test Subjects died wearing these back in the day). DeviantArt user batman-n-bananas made them to go with her steampunk Chell costume, which includes this incredible Portal gun.

I’ve seen many ladies cosplay Dark Phoenix but none of them had fire. Dark Phoenix cosplayed by Miracole Burns. Photographed by BGZ Studios.

Fashionably Geek reader Kristl sent us some photos of costumes spotted at the Image Comic Expo last weekend in Oakland, CA. In the above image, Daryl meets Daryl. Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead stopped to pose with these cosplayers. Very cool.
Check out more Walking Dead cosplay with Reedus after the break, as well as real Glenn slicing cosplay Glenn. There’s also a shot of Aang (The Last Airbender) and Death (Sandman) costumes.
A guy named Jamie P. crafted this badass custom T-Rex costume using a CNC router and hand cut parts. The roughly 25 lb costume is made from closed cell poly foam and a welded steel and aluminum subframe.

Just days after the release of new Spider-Man costumes comes another offering which gives us a good look at Lizard from The Amazing Spider-Man—a villain that has been kept mostly under wraps in the trailers thus far. There aren’t any details about a release date for the costume, but you can check out some additional images after the break—including a first look at the sexy/amusing Gwen Stacy costume.
Earlier this week, we saw a hot Skyrim-inspired cosplay. It turns out it was a teaser for a full-on photo shoot.

When you think about romantic marriage proposals, the word “binary” might not cross your mind. For the right person however, binary language means love (or <3). Think I’m crazy? A guy wearing a Bender mask made a video and proposed to his girlfriend entirely in binary code. That’s about three minutes of reciting 0′s and 1′s.
In case you wondered, the girl said yes. From the bride to be:
My boyfriend told me I had to close my laptop for a couple minutes, then when I logged back on this was posted to my facebook wall. He sat across the room as I transcribed and then decoded it. After about a half hour I found out it says, “Rachel, you are awesome. Will you marry me?” I said yes, of course.
Check out the proposal after the break.
New superhero movies mean new costumes, and since The Avengers has a whole assortment of heroes, it means lots of new costumes. Costume Craze just announced the wide selection of heroes they’re bringing to life for you to wear starting this summer. They’ve got designs from the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man and The Avengers. You can be The Hulk, Hawkeye, Spidey, Loki, the Black Widow, and many more for adults and kids. You’ll be able to pre-order these soon, and they will ship in the summer.
