The Radio Hat pictured on this shirt first appeared on the cover of the June 1949 issue of Radio-Electronics. On it we see actress Hope Lange demonstrating one of the first awkward attempts to create a portable device by integrating it with clothing. Unfortunately, the “safari spaceman” look did not prove popular with fashionable ladies of the time.
