The Saskatoon Blades, a Canadian junior hockey team, will take to the ice while wearing some new Star Wars-themed jerseys (with an appropriate scene from the Battle of Hoth) during their Nov 28th game against the Edmonton Oil Kings. Following the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off, and the proceeds will go towards foods banks in the region.
Lucasfilm approved the jerseys, and the company noted that a few Star Wars characters will make an appearance during the game.
The jerseys will feature the players’ names of course, but the Blades will also make jerseys with Star Wars characters’ names like Skywalker, Vader, Yoda, Maul and Solo. Let’s hope nobody gets stuck with Binks, right? It would be open season for them to get pummeled on the ice.
