IDC’s New Motorcycle Mimics Your Face Dragging Along The Pavement at 60 MPH

The UK’s Industrial Design Consultancy have taken design cues from human flesh and bone to create a helmet that can “reduce rotational impact by an unprecedented 50% and the subsequent possibility of brain damage by 67.5%”

Dubbed “SuperSkin”, the helmet has a skin-like membrane that glides along the surface without breaking during an impact. Because the skin absorbs the impact, you can reduce the risk of rotational injuries to the head and neck. Expect to see it this summer (in the UK at least) in colors that I can only assume will be more eye-popping than the prototype pictured here.
