To many people, cosplay is more than dressing up. It’s an expression, an art form, and a way of life. My Other Me: A Film About Cosplayers is a documentary-in-progress that follows a year in the life of three cosplayers. It will show people who don’t wear costumes what it’s like to invest so much time into outfits and why wearing them is important to the people who made them. It’s a big deal because the only place some people feel like they belong is at a convention in costume. Moviemaker Josh Laner has started an Indie GoGo campaign to raise funds for the project.
The trailer for the documentary is after the jump.
