For photographer Aaron Sheldon‘s four-year-old son, visiting the doctor’s office was akin to entering an unfamiliar and foreboding abyss. However, his fear was conquered when he “decided to act brave like an astronaut”, and donned a spacesuit for the occasion.
The initial photograph of the experience has since grown into an awesome series entitled “Small Steps Are Giant Leaps“, which features the little astronaut wearing his spacesuit to a variety of locations. Sheldon notes:
My goal is that the images from my “Small Steps Are Giant Leaps” project will remind other moms or dads out there who may be losing their patience in line at the grocery store or coffee shop that our kids aren’t just acting like fools – they are exploring new frontiers. Our job as parents is to act as their mission control and co-pilot to make sure they can explore as much of their new world as possible.
