I’m convinced there are so many anime titles in the world that I’ll never know a quarter of them. I’ve learned about one more because of the talented folks at Tentacle Grape Cosplay. King Happo and Ciarathallya cosplayed characters from Code Geass: Nunnally in Wonderland; the story is a spinoff of Code Geass featuring Lelouch and his sister Nunnally as the Mad Hatter and Alice. Tentacle Grape built Mad Hatter and Queen of Heart costumes. Their outfits are bright with striking designs, and Tentacle Grape worked on them for over five months! They did a wonderful job with all the details.
See more photos and learn about the process of crafting the costumes after the break.
From Tentacle Grape:
It took us over five months to complete both costumes. Over fifteen diffent fabrics (satins, brocades, sateens, velvet, and more), a few thousand Swarovski crystals, hundreds Swarovski beads and glass beads were used to embellish the costumes. Additionally, we gradient dyed fabric for the Mad Hatter’s costume. Both costumes are fully lined and even have functioning pockets. The costumes were made from heavily modified patterns and from custom made flat patterns from scratch. We styled both wigs and made almost all of what we are wearing including the jewelry and accessories. The only exception are for the cane, white shirt and gloves the Mad Hatter is wearing. We did get a little help from one Ciarathallya’s kindergartener with cutting out the appliques. It was really fun and challenging working on this. We plan on spending the summer tweaking the costumes a little bit more.
