Cosplayers who use their powers for good warm my heart. There are several organizations with hundreds, if not thousands of members, who cosplay for the sake of charity. Dustin Dorough dresses like Superman, and he’s taking his costume and compassion one step further: he wants to travel the United States and visit children’s hospitals. His project is appropriately called Hospital Heroes.
He knows that receiving a visit from Superman with a few encouraging words can make a huge difference. He wants to go to all 48 states and visit at least one hospital in each. The kids will get one-on-one time with the hero, an autographed photo, and a certificate of heroism. Most of all, Dorough wants to deliver hope—but he needs our help to do it. He’s raising funds for his trip on IndieGoGo. The guy is even willing to sleep in his car every night and shower at gyms so that the funding amount is lower. Let’s help him blow past his goal.
