Lots of weird stuff goes down in Florida, but this is a first.
A workforce agency in central Florida has pulled the plug on its Cape-A-Bility Challenge—a program that would give out red superhero capes to the jobless and an incentive to be “super employable” and fight “Dr. Evil Unemployment.”
Apparently, the agency spent $14,000 on these red capes, which resulted in quite a bit of rabble about insensitivity and wasteful spending. Fancy that.
