Special effects company VFXLAB, based out of San Bernardino, built an animatronic shark costume. Then they tested it in the swimming the pool at the local Hilton Doubletree Hotel, because… well, wouldn’t you?
The costume is built around a Seabob, requiring a person to operate. It’s slightly more realistic than Jaws, the shark from the movie Jaws based upon the novel “Jaws” by Peter Benchley who, fun fact, may himself have actually been a shark! (No he wasn’t, stop saying that. – Ed.)
VFXLAB posted a video of the shark in action, which you can check out below. Yet another reason to avoid the hotel pool.
