If you’ve been following Fashionably Geek, you would know that Converse has been offering some great options for DC Comics fans in their Chuck Taylor All Star line. These fabulous Wonder Woman sneakers come to mind. Now they’ve launched a campaign that allows you to design your own Chuck Taylor DC Comics shoes. Well, mostly.

You can choose from certain customizable parameters to make the shoes uniquely you. The only catch is that as of right now, the designs only include characters from the Batman universe. There are Batman, The Joker, Catwoman, and The Riddler design elements. Those are fantastic choices, but I hope it opens up to include more heroes and villains sometime soon. You can combine available prints featuring the Bat characters with canvas color, emblems, lining, personalized heel strips, and more. The version above was created recently by Comics Alliance and serves as an example of what’s possible.

I will never get enough of custom painted nerdy shoes, and these tennis shoes from ‘Shoes by Lady’ are particularly wonderful. The TARDIS design is my favorite of the bunch mostly because I love the addition of the suit and bowtie on the tongue of the shoe. It’s a perfect touch.

There are so many things from the universe of Doctor Who that I wish I could own. I’d like a Sonic Screwdriver. I’d like a TARDIS. I’d like a fez and perhaps a bow tie. Now I can add to the list all of these Doctor Who themed shoes. They are so pretty, and so likely to break my ankle, that it may be a good thing that they are only designs by lonely-soles and not something I can go buy. Oh, but these are so good it might even be worth the cast and crutches.

Designer Lumen Bigott uses social media and ended up incorporating sites like Twitter, Flickr, You Tube, and more into fashionable Keds. Each pair has a different theme and feature an image that ties the sneakers to a certain website. Bigott says:

I’m a big fan of inspiration blogs, I also spend a lot of time in social networks and I love fashion: those three things are responsible of this shoes collection. The idea was to find the most important graphic elements of my favorite social networks and apply them to my favorite pair of shoes trying to keeping alive the essence of each brand.
