We’ve all seen people who’ve painted their bodies in the name of cosplay. Usually it’s blue Na’vi or sexy green aliens from Star Trek or maybe even Hulk, but the folks at Australian Body Art Carnivale take things to a whole new level. This year’s theme was “Under the Sea” and it gave us mermaids, fish and tentacled creatures the likes of the ocean has never known.

Light is the new black and these beautiful dresses are made of nothing more. They are the creations of advertising and art photographer Atton Conrad. He makes the dresses by remotely triggering the camera while painting the light around the model in a blacked-out studio. It’s a shame there’s no way to actually wear these photographic pieces of art.

Most public establishments prohibit you from walking around with machine guns and pistols strapped to your thighs. It’s not right, I know, but it’s the way of the world. These sexy stockings pose the perfect way around the ridiculous sensibilities of modern society. Just don’t wear them on a plane. I can only imagine what the TSA would do if you tried getting through security in these.
