I mean, when you think “earmuff headphones” you probably think of the myriad products on the market that insert actual headphones inside earmuffs for cold weather listening. However, the guys behind these earmuffs dared to do something different, radical…ridiculous. Having GPS integrated directly into your goggles is probably the best way to receive location data while barreling down the slopes, but having a GPS display on your glove is probably the next best thing. The upcoming Xplore.XGS from Zanier features a monochrome GPS display on the thumb of the glove, making it seem as though your are super stoked about your run down the mountain (thumbs up all the way!).

The gloves can be connected via USB to your computer in order to download data, and the fabric is Gore-Tex so your fingers  and the electronics should stay warm and dry. Unfortunately, no pricing or release date information has been made available thus far.

“Transcend” is definitely an appropriate name for Zeal Optic’s new line  ski goggles. Not only do they surpass most most goggles in terms of how they look, they also appear to be the first goggles with an integrated GPS display. Skiers can also get information on speed, altitude, temperature and distance traveled.

All of the information is displayed to the skier in their line of sight without obscuring their view—and the options can be controlled with the three buttons on the right hand side. A demo video also reveals that Zeal is planning to roll out new functionality over time like trail caller ID and text message display, buddy tracking, online data sharing, trail maps, mountain traffic reports, camera and recording features, virtual run previews, lift line information, music controls, emergency calling and more.

Trancend is available now for pre-order in two versions: a photochromatic version for $450 and a polarized version for $350, with a ship date of October 1st.
