MaDonna Flowers created these crochet Game Boy gloves which are fingerless in order to keep your digits free for unobstructed game play. There doesn’t appear to be a store offering these for sale, but an October 18th comment on her blog suggests she takes commissions.

We’ve seen some pretty spectacular Hylian shield replicas in the past, but we dig the worn leather look of this version (based on an image of Link as the Fierce Deity from Majora’s Mask) from Etsy seller Aradani.

The shield is double layer 1/4 inch ply wood, glued together to achieve the curvature of the shield. It is 24 inches tall, 18 inches wide at the widest point. It has garment leather on the backside (with two straps for actual use) and a small ring for hanging on a wall. The front and edge of the shield are 10 oz Veg Tan leather, completely hand-tooled to form the classic image seen in the video game. After tooling, I dyed the entire shield black, and then I hand-painted the shield. It is mounted to the wooden core using contact cement and upholstery tacks.

It’s $400, which is a lot to spend on a cosplay accessory, but there’s no question that a lot of skilled labor went into creating it. Check out an image of the back of the shield after the break.
