In The Hunger Games, the Capitol is the shining pride of Panem. The residents of the city hold fashion in the highest regard. They cover themselves in intricate tattoos, undergo body modification, and even change the color of their skin. The nail polish line inspired by the Capitol was just the beginning; now there’s an entire fashion blog devoted to the style of Panem’s central city. Capitol Couture will be updated continuously leading up the March 23 premiere of the film, but right now you’ll find a profile on Effie Trinket (pictured above), popular shoes in the Capitol, and manicure tips from an official stylist.

Everyone’s going steampunk these days, even the likes of Athena and Medusa thanks to Jessica Rowell of J-Chan Designs, photographer Nina Pak, and model Elizabeth Maiden. A touch of grungy metal mixed with mythic characters proves to be striking. I think Medusa’s coils are a huge improvement over the snakes.
