Something about Star Wars translates to cute and frilly. You’ve probably seen the R2-D2 ballerina outfit complete with a tutu, and now there’s a delightfully adorable Darth Vader tutu dress to go with it. This design incorporates many textures including tulle, felt, rhinestones/crystals, and what appears to be glitter. I think it would pair nicely with a Vader helmet and some black shoes that lace all the way to the knee.
Now I’ve talked myself into wanting it. Darnit.

Luna Lovegood is one of the quirkiest characters in the Harry Potter series. It’s in what she says, what she does, and especially what she wears. One of the newest items in our Nerd Approved Shop let’s you have a piece of her quirkiness for yourself with her signature spectra spec glasses. Just be careful. I hear they’ve spotted Death Eaters at Hogwart’s again.

When you’ve been dating someone for 18 months from 4,000 miles away, it’s only natural that your wedding theme would be superheroes. You’ve survived a lot after all. Megan Suszynski and her husband Thomas like comics and kitsch, so they combined all those factors and planned their DIY wedding.
The bride and bridesmaids wore capes and masks, there was a singing Batman, and they included lots of simple but effective touches. Plus, the bride wins the nicest bride award ever for having her bridesmaids wear Toms instead of stilettos.

Drawing a mustache on your finger is old news. It’s much cooler to dress your finger up in a little costume complete with a wig. Yes, you read that right. Tamara Maynes has designed a series of superheroes in teensy tiny costumes suited for your finger. The characters have fun names like Angle Man and include masks, capes, and fun logos—and they’re cute.
I think fashioning little ensembles would be a great project for kids or adults. And, if you make your own and convince friends to make villains, you could have epic finger poking contests or thumb wars.
