Comic Book Costumes That Actually Look Good on Film

The guys at io9 have put together a list of comic book costumes that have actually translated well to the big screen. The list includes the likes of Iron Man, Hellboy and the Joker but leaves out obvious ones like TMNT, Sin City, 300 and X-Men. Generally speaking though, good movies tend to have good costumes—i.e. Superman the Movie vs Superman Returns. It’s kind of a prerequisite. Check out io9 for the complete list.

This GBT Steampunk leather mask with its built in loudspeaker does a great job representing Bob Basset’s other works of weirdness, some of which are for sale through his website. This new design in particular looks like it could be the mask of a 19th century super villain known as “Victrola Man” who uses the hiss and pop recordings of the early 1900s as his calling card.

First Look: Iron Man 2 Costumes

The guys at Costume Craze have unveiled the updated Iron Man 2 lineup with Whiplash, War Machine, Ironette, Black Widow and more. Pricing has not been announced just yet, but they claim pre-orders will start “very soon.” They also note that a Mark 6 costume will be added on March 1st.
