Amputee Trades In Prosthetic Hand For A Bionic NERF Gun

Nicolas Huchet may have lost a hand, but a group of hackers known as Hackerloop made him better than ever with a Nerf gun hand that can fire balls on command.

The Nerf gun fires via muscle contractions thanks to an electromyogram (EMG) sensor and Arduino circuit board. The sensor measures electrical activity generated when Nicolas contracts the muscles on his forearm. When it rises above a predetermined threshold, foam balls go flying. See it in action below.

The Nerf prosthetic is currently in the prototype phase, but Hackerloop plans to release a finished product next month.
