Tokyoflash has just released two new watches that, for the first time ever, feature wood rather than metal. The Kisai Rogue has an always on LED face with the minutes and hours indicated by the empty spaces in the watch’s circular design pattern. It’s also got a wooden case and strap made from maple and sandal wood to look like a traditional metal strap.

The Kisa Stencil also has the unigue face design that is the hallmark of Tokyoflash with the time displayed in the negative space of the numbers on the LED readout. The case of this one is also made of maple and sandle wood, but the strap here is genuine leather.

Both are available in limited editions with a special introductory price of $99 that’s only good through May 3rd at 16:00 Japan time so order yours now!

This watch designed by Peter Fletcher is currently just a prototype, but with any luck we’ll actually be able to buy it someday soon. He created the watch to resemble the saucer section of a Federation starship with two rotating dials that display the hour and minutes through a little window. The saucer itself is LED illuminated to make it look even more sci-fi. Fletcher has submitted his design to Tokyoflash for possible production so fingers crossed that you’ll be able to buy it soon. We’re not holding our breath though—Tokyoflash pretty much makes the same watch over and over again.

The latest Tokyoflash Kisai watch is the OTO which features a sound sensitive graphic equalizer with bars that move up and down in response to the noise around you. The time can be read either horizontally or vertically with hours, minutes and seconds being displayed. You can choose to turn off the bars if they’re too distracting, or choose to turn off the time if you just want the look of the cool blinking bars on your wrist. The idea for the Kisai OTO came from fan Sam Jerichow of Germany and is the tenth fan concept to actually become a watch.

The new Tokyoflash Kisai Adjust watch features an LED display that shows the time in a pattern of triangles. It works horizontally or vertically and can be set for either 12 or 24 hour time. You can also see the date, set an alarm and even change the color to one of six choices that can also be set to an animated display.

This is the 9th fan idea that has become a reality through submissions on the Tokyoflash blog. It came from Nicolas Hélin of Belgium who wanted a watch that was both simple and futuristic at the same time. As with other Tokyoflash watches, this will be made in limited quantities and once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.

Tokyoflash keeps coming up with watches that look sleek and futuristic. The Kisai Space Digits design is on par with others they’ve released this year; it’s innovative and displays time in a way I’ve not seen before. It’s simple to read once you know what you’re looking for: the time is displayed from left to right and the date is from top to bottom.

The gadget-accessory has the basics like an alarm, an EL backlight, and a crystal clear LCD interface. You can get the band in black, gold, or silver. It’s the type of watch that gets noticed.

Tokyoflash has introduced a gorgeous new watch design: the Kisai Polygon. The stainless steel watch has angled surfaces and mirrored LCD segments that present the time in a different and easy to read way.

Twelve polygons on the outer ring of the display showcase the hours; they’re in the same place they would be on a regular clock. The six triangles in the next ring represent the minute hands, and single minutes are displayed in the center of the display. It takes a second but once you look at the examples, you’ll be able to tell what time it is with a glance.

The Kisai Polygon design is limited so if you want one, buy it now.

Tokyoflash is well-known for their out-of-this-world watch concepts, but once in a while, they take those concepts and turn it into a real watch. The newest one that they’ve added to their line-up is the Kisai Maze Watch.

The watch features an LCD labyrinth that reveals the time in the maze’s pathways. You can also switch to the regular digital mode if you want the time presented to you straight.

TokyoFlash keeps releasing watches that are more than functional and attractive – they’re innovative. Their new Kisai Logo model comes with an LCD display that’s not like anything I’ve seen before. As time ticks forward, the design on the watch morphs into a new arrangement. It almost looks like a game of Tetris. The outer block signifies the hour, and the inner block shows the minutes. It doesn’t take long to adjust to reading the time in this style, and if you don’t like it, you can kick the nerdy up a notch and switch to binary.

Tokyoflash has just released the new Kisai Online watch based on a design submitted by Sam Jerichow of Germany. His design was voted a fan favorite and is now the seventh fan concept to become a reality.

“A futuristic watch design with continuous vertical lines, Kisai Online uses a built in accelerometer to reveal the digital time. The LCD display looks like a cryptic pattern to outsiders, but turn the watch towards you and the lines fall away to reveal the digital time in hours and minutes.”

This sleekly designed watch comes in black or silver stainless steel with a natural, blue or red display. It’s only available at the $149 price until 11:30am Saturday July 14th (Japan time) when the regular price of $169 will take effect.
